19 months old Nathan

I’m one happy mom! Nathan has reached an age when he’s lot more fun to play with. He has longer attention span, understand more things, has opinions (and try hard to make sure he’s heard) and talk more. Although he doesn’t speak phrases yet, his current vocabulary list is enough to express his wants. To me, that is, who lives and breathes 24/7 with him. Haha. Phodi sometimes having difficulties to comprehend what N says.

We are also blessed to have a safe neighbourhood with a handful kids age 2-5. When the weather’s fine, they love to play outside and one particular boy actually loooves to play at our house. He loves to play with the animal figurines at N’s shelf and he’s 5. Quite funny to see older kids knocking at our home, wanting to play with “N”. Nevermind though, it’s nice that N can learn and observe them playing. I think N is quite sociable and comfortable being in a social scene. Actually he better be if he is Phodi’s son. Lol.

N's the youngest

This month I also noticed that N has become very independent. Upon reminded to wash his hands before eating, he’ll pull his chair to the sink and call me to help him with the water. He will also clean up his toys after playing.
For example, I always prepare a tea towel if we’re playing with water. N will always wipe down his mess during and after playing because he thinks that’s part of the game. Good job. He also likes helping out. He’s actually the one who put on the child lock on kitchen shelves if it’s open. Lol. Bad parenting.

In a way I love that N’s understanding instructions well. Can you help me to throw this please? Can you put your dirty clothes away please? Can you bring this to Papi please? Lol. And the worst one as I’m a bad keeper… Do you know where my phone is? And he’ll search and find it. Hahahahaha. Very useful. Remember, please and thank you must be emphasize at all times.

The more he grows, the more I see that he is one cheeky boy. Whenever we play puzzles, he likes to put wrong pieces into place just to say “tetottt” then laugh like there’s no tomorrow. That + looking at my dissatisfied face. If I didn’t pay attention to him, he’ll continue and do his puzzle correctly straight away. How cheeky!!

N also loves to sing/hum. Sometimes he sings when he’s doing activities. His favourite is “Cicak di dinding” and “ABCs”. He enjoys playing piano at my parents’. That is actually his comfort resort if I left him with my mom for a while. He can sit and play for 10-15 minutes. That is a looooong time for a toddler to stay at one point. And being a demanding toddler, he like to choose on what song to sing next. He will shake his head if the song we’re singing isn’t right for his mood. But once we guess the right song, he’ll start singing and dancing his butt off. Major cuteness. All the headache from going through all songs possible is gone in a sway.

And today, his Kids Church teacher said that N is a very mature toddler. When they were playing, N said “no no no” to the older kid who was banging things. Lol. That’s probably the only word that came up to his tiny growing mind. Alas I’m delighted to hear a sweet feedback about N.

Anyhow, below I have a list of words that N can say (that I can remember) as of today. These are the words that he’ll stay unassisted to express his wants. Apart from this he can say our names, my parents, brother and some of my cousinss with cues. Like “Mami Jessi…ca!” “Papi Pho…di!” Which to my surprised we never specifically taught him all these. Proving that kids learn through hearing. Watch out of what you say each day ;)
