I can feel it!

It’s the end of week 19 in the pregnancy. Time flies when you’re having fun and getting busy with things :) Before some baby stories, a selfie won’t hurt rite. Right?

week 19

Hello from us! I’m now 19 weeks pregnant

Last week we went to the obgyn and everything’s fine. Baby’s heartbeat is good at 155bpm and he’s growing well, just perfectly aligning with the normal curve. As of last week, the baby length was 13.53cm and weighted 266grams. Thanks to this growing baby, I have successfully gained 4.5kgs in 19 weeks. Well done indeed. Hahaha. Actually the last 3,5kgs I gained during my month in Australia. Never mind baby, as long as you’re healthy and strong, I don’t mind seeing an additional kilo on the scale. I don’t own a scale at home so hopefully it’s only another kilo each month. Teehee. One thing mommy and daddy never forget is to pray that you will continue to grow healthy and strong :)

week 18

ultrasound at 18 weeks and 4 days

Sometimes I still wonder how amazing God is that He can create a human inside me. Even though I’ve been imagining about being a mom, but I never actually imagine on becoming a pregnant woman. This is not because I prefer adoption or else, but just because the idea of how pregnancy would be never crossed my mind. I thank God that this pregnancy has been greatly enjoyable and hopefully it will continue on.

So last time I mentioned that I want to feel this baby moving and alive. This week I could actually felt it for the first time. It was around midnight and I was just turning off my tablet after some before bed reading. Phodi was already asleep and then… just after I tucked myself inside my blanket, it moved!! Not once but several times! Gahhh.. if Phodi hadn’t slept so soundly then, I would have woken him up.

My reading sources explains this early movements as quickening and it is the earliest sign of baby’s life for the expecting mom. It was such an exciting experience. After all the ultrasounds I longed to feel the movement and so when I finally felt it, I was over the moon! The next day, I warned Phodi that the baby might move again and he might had the chance to feel it. Only then we learnt that you can’t cooperate with unborn 19th week baby. Every time I felt a movement, I called Phodi but then the baby stopped moving. It’s too early for the baby to understand that daddy wanted to get to know it too. Hahaha.

After waiting patiently for 2 nights, my baby daddy could finally feel our baby’s movement. He was so excited, talking to the baby and all but because it was already late night, Phodi went asleep straight after the baby stopped. I didn’t tell Phodi this but the baby kept moving probably for another 3 minutes. I think the baby’s thrilled to hear a somewhat familiar voice talking to it while it’s awake. Just the cutest thing this week.

Oh anyway, our obgyn had an 80% guess of our baby’s gender. We didn’t get a clear picture during the ultrasound because the baby was awake and moving when we did it so the doctor was only 80% sure. FYI, the doctor’s guess was the same as my initial gut feeling so I’m fairly sure that he’s right. Does anyone have a guess on what our baby’s gender might be based on this ultrasound?

can u guess the gender?

can u guess the gender?

Or if you believe in old wives’ tales, can you have a guess of the baby’s gender from my face / aura?

week 19 – Could the old wives’ tales be true?

Have fun guessing!
